This is a matte gray hair barrette with teal blue drops of glass fused to it. While it may LOOK like slate stone, it's actually made from stained glass. Smaller chips of the gray and blue glass were arranged across the top, then fused into the base piece, adding depth and texture. The gray glass is actually a teal blue glass that can be fired at different temperatures to get a different effect, either a glossy blue or the matte gray. In this barrette, it was fired so that the flat gray finish developed. It's a great pairing with the shine of the blue. It's a unique, steel or industrial look that really stands out in a crowd.
